Treatments for smoking cessation

According to a research presented at the annual Conference “Tobacco or Healthâ held recently in New Orleans, United States, the treatments to quit smoking can succeed even in the most smokers, and less motivated to leave the cigarette. Twelve specialized centers continued to 600 smokers who were not motivated to stop their addiction. Despite this, the participants were subjected to therapy, which in the first place checked the seriousness of their addiction.
In this way, the authors found that these smoking needed an intensive treatment. This included tips for motivating patients and a combination of drugs, such as the antidepressant bupropion and alternative therapies nicotinic as (inhalers, nasal sprays, patches or gum nicotine). The conclusion was that those patients taking the antidepressant showed a marked improvement. In this way, 14% of smokers who received bupropion showed motivated to leave their habit.
