New research have determined that the traditional Chinese medicine is safe and effective treatment of patients with atopic dermatitis persistent or eczema, as is commonly known, which could lead more to doctors to prescribe the complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) for the treatment of the disease allergic.
In the study presented at the Annual Meeting 2009 of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI), researchers at the Hospital Mount Sinai in New York analyzed 14 patients with atopic dermatitis persistent who received the traditional Chinese medicine in the center of Natural Health Manhattan, between August 2006 and May of 2008.
The treatments consisted in Erka Shizheng herbal tea, an additive for bathroom, creams and acupuncture.
The authors of the study used two measures: the SCORAD index to measure the seriousness and atopic dermatitis the Index of Quality of Life of Dermatology (DLQI) to calculate the deterioration of the quality of life.
