Fast Track Weight Loss Program Can Lead Other Physical Side Effects

Friends have raised concerns that notoriously eccentric pop star Lady Gaga is risking her health with a new fad diet, which has lead to shocking fast weight loss.
Gaga is reportedly eating nothing but pots of baby food, as she embarks on a gruelling tour. The star is already very small but sources say she is eager to maintain her figure.
The diet is fairly well known in Hollywood for promoting rapid weight loss and it is believed that actresses Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon have tried it. First pioneered by Dior designer Hedi Slimane, it’s used as a way to quickly drop any extra pounds.
However health experts and doctors have warned that the weight loss plan is not a safe way to lose weight. GMTV medic Dr. Hilary, speaking after the show’s fashion correspondent Mark Heyes tried the diet for two weeks, said “Adults need to chew food otherwise their teeth will eventually fall out. One needs pressure to work the bone of the teeth otherwise they become loose.”
The diet is so low in calories is could lead to a variety of health problems, including gallstones and damaged muscles.
Mark Heyes himself commented, “”The diet was tough because you just don’t feel full. It’s also like you’re not eating ‘proper’ food – just mush. To combat that I bought jars from 12 months plus. I wouldn’t do the diet again but I would eat a couple of the jars at lunchtime when I’m out and about shopping.”
Heat magazine quoted a source as saying, “Everyone is really worried about Gaga. She’s not eating healthily at all. She’s substituting meals for jars of baby food.”
The diet may sound extremely odd, but if Gaga really is following it, she is not the only celeb to opt for a strange weight loss plan. There have been reports that Sarah Harding of Girls Aloud sprinkles charcoal on her food, while Beyonce apparently followed a maple syrup weight loss program, where she drank hot water mixed with the syrup.
Over the last couple of years, a wide variety of faddy eating programs have been touted as the key to fast weight loss. From the ‘Raw Food Diet’ to the ‘Blood Type Diet’ to the ‘Cave Man Diet’, the weirder the better seems to appeal to celebrities.
However health experts have warned that for dieters who are really committed to keeping the weight off long-term, there is no quick fix. It is generally agreed that the key is eating in moderation, watching the fat content of meals and regularly taking exercise.
Lady Gaga’s management team have dismissed the claims that the star is following the rapid weight loss program.
